Stihl ms170 starting.
I just got my first gas chainsaw from the local Stihl dealer (now closed for the weekend), an MS 170 and used it earlier today. It came fueled from the store, and started easily (following the manual, going from choke on the bottom, then starting it on fast idle then immediately switching it up again by pulling the trigger again).
The MS170 is my first chain saw I have ever owned. I bought it this spring during Stihl dealer days for $160.00. I have cut 2 cords of wood with it and so far it has given me no problems starting. I did not realize how much I would love the process of sourcing, cutting, hauling and splitting my own firewood.Stihl MS 170 first start and muffler modification.
