If there's a public event in the Incursion Zone, hover your mouse over it and it will tell you if it's the Strike Force event. You don't have to just hang around on the planet. People do know, the problem is they're still not showing up. I spent a great deal of time babysitting it over the past few days and nada.

Vex strike force constantly crashes on PS5. I’ve got through to 4/6 minotaurs defeated twice now and the app crashes. Very annoying since the event comes up once in a blue moon! Ugh. UPDATE: Just ran it again, FOV down to 70 as advised by people below, changed from strand to solar and got to 4/6 defeated.
